SEASONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Because some things are just too good to pass up we bring you seasonal opportunities...

We're recruiting for our Men's Mentoring Group

Join the 2010/2011 Men's Mentoring Group!

You... yes, you! You can be a positive male role model. Join a group of men and a group of adolescent youth who hang out on the second Wednesday of each month during the school year. Treehouse For Kids recruits adolescent boys to meet up with men who participate in this program in order to foster self-confidence and positive interactions amongst males. For the past three years, both men and youth have enjoyed a sense of camaraderie as they played video games, talked about school and careers, learned together, made tacos and ordered pizza. This program enriches the lives of young men and helps men connect substantially with teens in the community. We have learned that a little connection goes a long way.

Coming this Fall: Seattle Works' annual service trip... to Nepal!

After two successful trips to Peru and Thailand, Seattle Works is excited to work once again with Crooked Trails, this time in Nepal! Volunteers will meet up in Nepal, stay with Nepali families, work alongside them to finish building the upper secondary school in the village of Chandeni and enjoy traveling and reflecting as a team. After a week of service the group will complete their journey with a five day trek through the Himalayas. This is bound to be an absolutely amazing experience!

More information and details about how to sign up for this year's trip. To read about our previous two trips with Crooked Trails, check out our blog!

Dates:
11 Nov to 21 Nov, 2010 (w/o trek)
11 Nov to 27 Nov, 2010 (w/ trek)

Cost: $1295 for the service trip, $400 for the trek, plus travel to and from Nepal
